Autumn's Grandmother's Testimony

Baby Autumn was born on Wednesday, January 26, 2005. Two weeks before that, the doctors had discovered through the ultrasound that she had two fairly large pockets of fluid on her brain, and a hole somewhere right in that area. They immediately sent Rachel into the large medical center here in Chattanooga for more tests, including an amniocentesis. They had told her that her baby would have to have brain surgery as soon as it was born, and then she would be in the newborn intensive care unit. And the worst thing that they told her was that she might not be able to survive the surgery, but in any case she would be mildly to severely mentally retarded.

Well, Rachel, who is my daughter (Randy's sister) cried and cried, and she prayed and prayed. [Many people have prayed for the well-being of this little girl.]

On Wednesday, as it turned out, we were all greatly surprised, and we will always be grateful to God that our little baby Autumn was born a perfect little girl. She is one week old now and several tests have already been done, and it appears that she does not have any of the dreaded problems that have shown up so clearly on the tests before. [Thanks to everyone for their prayers. Autumn's family requests continued prayer on her behalf.]
